This is a ford in Kenilworth (I've mentioned previously) - with mostly what are the ruins of Kenilworth Castle in the background. The stream at normal level flows into some pipes that take it under the main road.

When we have a good deal of rain however it rises and flows over the road, sometimes shutting it. When this happens those who try to get across tend to get stuck and end up being rescued - which has happened very recently.

It has now receded somewhat after recent rain, but some water is still trickling over from the left of the photo.

There is a depth marker on both sides of the road (one can be seen far left of photo), which you can see when you approach it from either direction via the road.

It has been upto two feet recently. 2-3 years ago it reached 4-5 feet (the top of the depth marker).
