Faith
Faith is my godmother. She's 86 and she's a brick. No-one ever made mince with mashed potato and baked beans like Faith did. Funny how some childhood memories stay with us for ever while others fade almost the moment they're made. I think this food memory endures becasue it was as comforting to eat as Faith was and is to be with.
We spent some time together today looking at photographs from when I was little - all part of the 'the project' for this term's Dig Photography module.
I've no recollection of having seen some of the images before and was particularly pleased to find one of me with my much loved Grandpa and also me with Faith's husband, Colin. They were both very funny and caring men. Grandpa died in 1971 and Colin in 1983 and memories of them still make me smile.
