Gig at the Park Cafe

It was a busy busy day. A long walk in the morning, time spent lying on the beach, a swim in the lagoon…. And so it went on. Then in the late afternoon we packed up the car with a picnic tea, camera gear and headed over to Marahau.
We found Alex and Hannah on their recently purchased property in the Marahau area. Youngest son Duncan had been there since early morning helping Alex with ‘weed whacking’. And there are plenty of weeds to whack on the 10 acre plus property. Gorse and blackberry in the main. Hannah had injured her ankle last night, was in a lot of discomfort and out of action. A visit to the hospital on their way home to Nelson was planned.
Rachel and I were given the grand tour up overgrown tracks to the highest point on the property. There are great views from up there and we enjoyed watching a pair of native pigeons flying around.
At the end of our time with family Rachel and I headed to the Park Café at the start of the Abel Tasman Track. There we spent time with the owners and watched the start of a tuneful gig. A Dutch trio provided us with very lovely music. I only used my point and shoot camera to capture today’s image in very challenging light. I have used a Nik filter to improve the clarity of the image... Alas, it was far too late to spend time on the computer when we got back to the caravan. Hence I have had to do a back-blip.
