Prayer flag chains

We celebrated communion at church today, and for a change sat round small tables in groups rather than in rows of chairs. When it came time for sharing bread and wine we did that at our tables too. Following this in our time of intercession we wrote the names of countries we were praying for on small post-it notes and made prayer flag banners. We repeated this with prayer for individuals and then all the chains were then taken and hung from the cross.

Prayer doesn't have to be sat still "doing nothing". Sometimes the very process of acting it out can deepen the meaning and concentrate the praying.
