Looking resplendent from his perch in The Square, Shrewsbury this afternoon, despite the, err .......................... rain.

Robert Clive was born in 1725 at Styche Hall, here. He went to school at the old Grammar School in Market Drayton. The School ceased to be many years ago and is now just a lovely private house.

Shrewsbury wasn't much fun today in the lousy weather and the River is still running very fast with quite bad flooding in places.

We are suffering from hideously slow and intermittent internet at home for some reason and I've got hideously behind with everyone again. I'm so sorry . We've rung Orange (sorry, EE)!! Now I'm giving up and going for a walk!!! But, I'll be back later to see if the situation has improved??! !)
