That’s the greeting many will have said this weekend to mark the beginning of the Chinese New Year. Also known as the Spring Festival, it marks the start of new life and the season of ploughing and sowing. This marks the start of a two week holiday in China, here in Japan it is an excuse to eat and drink excessively.

Chinatown has welcomed in the Year of the Horse with vigour and enthusiasm, The number of people here all weekend has been staggering and the range of food on sale is deliciously amazing.
