Colourful Necklace

Just sitting next to Ann on the sofa in the morning I wondered where the rainbow of colours had suddenly come from... the sunlight through the windows was catching the colours of the necklace she's got as a birthday present a few days ago. Maybe I did pick something up on the 'Light' section of my photography course after all. Simple things like this please me...

Speaking of birthdays, last night (am writing this on Sunday morning) marked the end of this year's elongated birthday celebrations for Ann, just before they threatened to enter a second week... our friend Laura has a birthday on Tuesday, and as we didn't manage to meet up with them last weekend, decided to have a joint birthday celebration for her and Ann. Also invited the new neighbours / old friends who moved in a few days ago, to introduce them to a few local faces. So the house was full of 8 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs.

After an almost-but-not-quite-completely Dry January, it was the first big blowout of the year, if the number of empty wine bottles and my muggy head are anything to go by...
