Sarau……..

……Festival

Taken looking through the spokes of a restored gig - at the Sarau Festival.

“This combination country market and blackcurrant Sarau Festival is an opportunity to celebrate the food, art, wine, beer and crafts created in the Moutere.”

SARAU – Upper Moutere, located between Nelson and Motueka (New Zealand) on the inland highway, was once called Sarau.

Named by the German missionary pastor, Heine, in 1850, after the beautiful valley of the same name near his home in northern Germany.

It was renamed Upper Moutere during World War One.
