New Bike Racks

West Broadway, Lower Manhattan.

They raised the grates over the subway vents about 6 inches so rainwater wouldn't flood into the tunnels and that created a tripping hazzard for pedestrians. The city got smart and built these bike racks that include benches (which my camera is set upon) that alleviated the potential problem. A good idea and the racks and benches are very well used on this street. I haven't seen these structure anywhere else but it would be really cool if they pop up everywhere.
