Statues on a Bridge

Carved from concrete I've been looking at this statue very often, so I decided to blip it and do research to the origin.

It appears to be a mother protecting her children for the heavy traffic on the bridge where it stands. It's called: 'Safe in Traffic' and is made by Dirk Wolbers in 1937.
