Saturday: Narnia

Well, we have a very full and fun day today.  Our friends, Niks and Mirjana, had asked if we wanted to join them for a walk outside town and 'a light lunch' - 9 hours later we are now home!  

It started with punch and cake at theirs before picking up Gabi.  We then drove out to Samobor and went for a lovely walk along the river.  The snow is absolutely amazing at the moment - it is still lying really thick but is now completely frozen so it looks like a massive plastic sculpture.  I have never seen snow look so shiny and smooth!

'Light lunch' was in a great little restaurant - a starter of mushroom soup made from 20 different types of mushrooms.  And a main of duck and 'mlinci' - mlinci, for want of a better explanation is a type of pasta but it is so much better than that - it is real winter day comfort food.  A nice long walk back to the car and mulled wine en route.  And bed soon, as K. has an early flight in the morning.
