In Principio

From today's preview at Bede's World, Jarrow.
I found the backing washed up on the Blast beach, hand painted the opening lines from gospel of St John... then on the right a photo transfer from the torn tarpaulin on one of the boats on Lindisfarne... but I can't help but see a monk.
Frame and support from found wood on the beach.
Preview not well attended, but the cafe is well used. Might make their scones more interesting, but not hopeful for sales. Good to see the work in a new venue though.
