shelduck wandering

I took advantage of a spell of ....sunshine (!?) to totter down to the marina. No curlews - I guess they are all off in the woods doing whatever curlews do at this time of the year to produce new curlews. So, either shelduck or redshanks. I thought this image of the duck with its trail through the mud was the best I took. The tide was way out so they were all a bit too far for a close up!
