Let them eat cake!

Well, that was the plan.

I had intended going along to Draco's blip meet at Chesterton Mill near Royal Leamington Spa this evening. Unfortunately it has been cancelled due to a couple of reasons, including forecast rain and winds averaging 25+mph. A real shame but its not going to be ideal conditions.

Am sure Karen is wondering if it was right to cancel - The weather this morning has been very brought and dry, but come lunchtime, its now beginning to cloud over and starting to get breezy. I bet the forecast will be spot on.

Am doubly disappointed - Firstly, I was really looking forward to meeting lots of fellow blippers as well as meeting John Gravett again). Secondly, I had commissioned a cake from the catering department especially for this evening. Well, kind of. Gail did a cake for a cake sale at work for McMillan Cancer Support. They made over three hundred pounds yesterday. I was intending to blag ask for contributions this evening with this second cake - I thought a bit of cake and a nice cuppa would be welcome by everyone.

I've just had to start eating it myself - a delicious apricot and hazelnut cake covered with an apricot jam glaze. Mmmmm….

Maybe when the meeting is on again, I can get another one made. Hope you all look forward to it ;-)
