Unknown Flower

I have no idea what this flower is, but it is strange and beautiful. If anyone out there is a nature buff, I'd love for you to share your knowledge on this one! It's probably a pest or something, and I'm here proclaiming my love for it.

Today was a a pretty uneventful day, which included a walk down to the aqueduct where I found this beauty. Tonight, however was a little more exciting as we spent the night at Jon's place catching up with him and Dam & Jon's cousin Frankie who is lovely and awesome. We enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner and good conversation, what more could you really want.
