Snowdrops in Strathaven

Actually there were real drops of snow in Strathaven today but luckily it did not amount to anything. These snowdrops were in the grounds of the hotel where I lunched with my mum. This has been one of the unforeseen results of retirement- the opportunity to have more time with my mum and to re-establish the kind of relationship we had when I was young.

Recently as I have been, very slowly, recording my memories of my youth I have realised, yet again, how much I owe my parents and the love they surrounded me with as I was growing up.
