Polar Museum

Had a trip to Cambridge today to visit the Polar Museum at the Scott Polar Research Institute. It's only a small museum but absolutely fascinating, covering aspects of North and South Pole exploration and of course, Captain Scott's ill-fated expedition to the South Pole. Even though the story of Captain Oates and his infamous last words are so well known it was still incredibly moving to see Captain Scott's account of it alongside Captain Oates photograph, together with his final log entries in the last few days they were alive after Captain Oates death. If you are ever in Cambridge I would really recommend a visit.
