Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink

Been out shopping with my daughter today, getting lots of new stuff for her bedroom, trying to dodge the continuous downpour of rain. Then got home to find we had no water in the house. In fact no one in the street seems to have any water, although there does seem to be plenty sitting on the road!
