Foodbank

One of the afternoons that Smethwick Foodbank opens is on a Friday. I can only imagine how awful it will have been today to have to trudge through the incessant rain to go to the Foodbank to get some food to last through the weekend. Last weekend they couldn't give complete packages to all the voucher holders who arrived because they had run out of a lot of the basics. Maybe we've all been too preoccupied with sorting ourselves out after Christmas. Maybe the finances are a bit tight. Maybe we've been listening too much to Edwina Currie expressing her forthright views on how people should be living their lives. Maybe she needs to go and talk to more people who are living in difficult situations.

So this is what we put together this morning on our trip to the local supermarket. We haven't done it for a couple of weeks so now we are back in routine we will do it every week.

Had to do school work today too. On my day off! That's bad planning isn't it? Still, it hasn't been a day for staying outside for long.
