You will get a fishy….
Friday night starts here… The men of Port Appin sail into harbour after a long stint at sea and their loved ones line the quayside to welcome them home.
It's been a rough crossing from Lismore to the Mainland and the mile journey has tested their endurance and sea legs. But now they've got 48 hours leave before their daily journeys start all over again on Monday.
TECHNICAL NOTES: The model boat is an Danish Arcitec 170mm long 1:87th scale shrimp cutter. Lots of detailing yet to do.
The people are also 1:87th made in Germany by Preiser and hand painted in Mauritius. And before anyone decides they are deeply offended I should point out these are available in toy shops and model railway shops around the world. They are also about 22mm tall.
The pier is scratch built and based on one surveyed at Tarbert, Loch Lomond and Easdale.
The backdrop is Dun Mor above Ellenabeich seen from across Easdale Sound.
PLEASE NOTE This Port Appin is a totally fictitious location as are all the people/places mentioned therein. It is a series of dioramas in a scale of 4mm - 1 foot designed to display my model transport collection.
As they say in the cinema,"All characters and locations appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons or similarly named locations, living or dead, is purely coincidental".
