Statue of Liberty
Todays photo makes an excellent question for a pub quiz. Or even if you just want to get one over smart assed pals.
Most people have heard of the Statue of Liberty in Manhattan harbour. The famous landmark that welcomed immigrants to the New World. There is a second one in Paris. But did you know that Glasgow also has its own Statue of Liberty?
A few days ago I wrote about the importance of looking up in the city centre.
The Statue of Liberty in Glasgow is much less obvious. It is positioned high above the front entrance to the City Chambers, off George Square.
I would be very interested to find out how it got there and why.
