Goodbye Little House
I did so love living under your roof but the time came for me to move along.
I must say I did enjoy living in East Lothian. All the pretty back roads I drove and stopped on to take photos are embedded in my memory.
I did like my clumps of Scots Pines and having favourite little spots to photograph from.
Perhaps the time was right for me to move back to the city when, on Blip, Liz Imbrie pointed out the "One Tree" site and after scouring every pathway of a very great mileage (Dunbar through to Tranent, Port Seton to Gifford and many areas between) I came to a final decision of a Tree. This was no easy task as so many made the grade (I adore trees).
What happened though!! Of every tree there is, I picked the one that was brutally lopped of all it's beauty. Every interesting curve and twist of it's branches which gave a sense of a Japanese bonsai were gone, lost for ever. Perhaps the owners of the house in whose grounds it's roots clung deep were fed up of me hanging around admiring it with my lens. Who knows why, but I did feel rather cheated.
