TotP 1979

Stumbled across top of the pops from 1979 tonight on the tele.

Several things came to mind.

1. There were a few good tunes that week that are still memorable today.
2. There was some absolute $€!¥
3. The miming was terrible. Billy Idol particularly! Although sneering and singing is never easy.
4. All the bikers that went about with Nazareth and UFO patches on their leather jackets..... Did they really listen go this whimsy rubbish?
5. Why was it just the leader singers in new wave bands that dressed like rock stars? The others looked like either straight from the dole queue or from wedding bands!

Anyway, an enjoyable 30 mins and a poor excuse for a blipfoto featuring Nazareth leader Dan McCafferty from Dunfermline. They're a group that have strangely bypassed me. Thankfully.
