Leith Pier

Finished work and headed over to the road bridge with a view to get some shots of the new bridge works and the lights from the cranes and working barges. Seems there are not many places on the north shore to get a good shot and ended up coming away empty handed.

Back up plan was the old Gormley pier in Leith. Inspired by some photos recently by Guigphotography I try to take another picture of the old derelict pier at the back of the Britannia.
Arrived a bit late and the light had gone. Not the easiest trying to focus in the dark and cold wind. Still happy with the result I think.

There is another photo here with a longer lens and just the end of the pier with the lights behind it. A shot for another week I think. Looking at what is going on this weekend this might have to be my photo for the monthly challenge of night photography as well.
