Ye Olde Sweetie Shoppe
Traffic coming home from the O2 last night was awful. Multiple road closures and many, many cones. Who knew getting back on the M4 would be so difficult. Thankfully there was four of us in the car to keep the spirits up.
The concert was great, with the highlight for me the street dance troupe, who really got the arena on their feet and the kids seemed to love Stacy Solomon (X Factor star).
As we didn't leave until later, and hence arrive later, there didn't leave a lot of time for me to nip off into the centre , so one of the other mums suggested a movie. Although we bought tickets to see the new Martin Scorsese film, we ended up swapping due to time constraints, to ....... a Stallone/De Niro film. I should point out I am a movie buff, so my expectations were incredibly low for this, but it was light hearted, most of the leads apart from De Niro, had clear "improvements" on their physique and face and it passed an hour and half while outside was grey and wet. But...it has made me look out Raging Bull to watch again.
Although I thought I would travel light with my nifty fifty prime, I did pack my 75-300 1.4, which allowed me to get some good shots of the school even in the low light. I'm quite pleased with what I've taken, especially as they were all hand held. Was planning on editing tonight, but am ready for cuppa, a movie classic, and the sofa with my feet up. We didn't get back until just after 1am and the coach only arrived at school at 1.30am. So with munchkin no 2 waking at 6 I have been surviving on four hours sleep today. Munchkin 1 and the other children in the choir were allowed the day off, so I have had a nice quiet day at home instead of work, with a little trip to the sweetie shop as a treat in the afternoon as my son made me a lovely cup of tea after I caught a cat nap while Little Miss E was sleeping.
So that is todays Blip, the sweetie shop. My favourite as they stock Iced caramels! I was a quick Blip as a whole load of kids came in, just as I was composing, so it was quite difficult to manoeuvre into a good spot. Not sure if I should have left it in glorious sugary Technicolor, but I quite liked it in Ye Olde fashioned sepia.
