Pond weed

Usually the weed—that grows like a grassy garment on the surface of the water—dies off over the winter. This year has been far too mild to reduce its determination to create a complete covering. There will have to be plenty of skimming with a fishing net this spring. No sign of any frogspawn yet, which usually appears in late February – nor even of any frog frolicking.
