A Walk on a Dull Day
We picked up my sons dog who loves coming out with us for long walks and is a joy to take as she's so well behaved.
The planned walk was a 6 mile circular walk from Goodrich Castle along the river Wye and back into Goodrich Village. It's one we have done many times in all seasons.
The river was higher than I'd ever seen it, and had obviously been many feet higher as it had left wood debris on the surrounding land. It wasn't half boggy and hard work.
I took quite a few photo's but the sky was very grey. The temperature being 4 degrees celsius, it's not far off a bit of sleet...which is forecast for high ground.
It was either this image or a lovely colour one of Flaneford Priory, but in line with my resolution of posting more black & white, the one of Goodrich Church was chosen.
St Giles Church, Goodrich, Herefordshire was built in the 13 century and is made of sandstone. It contains the tomb of the Countess of Salisbury.
