Ben and Chuque in the final panel are perfection. It's a cheap joke, and I think Ben would have taken Tad's place as whipping boy in the strip - in fact, a lot of the time it seems like the strip really belongs to Zen and Vanna, and Tad is just a distraction - so once he becomes comfortable with being gay he's got very little freak out about (his defining trait). Solution going forward? Have Tad freak out about being married. :)

Believe it or not, even during the Big City run of the strip there was a time when people didn't automatically identify certain symbols with being gay. Which was a good thing because I think half the jokes depended on that.

(Also try not to remember that Tad is wearing the clothes he wore on his date with Frank, which means he hasn't been to the shower yet after the events of a couple of strips ago. Ha ha, gross)
