The Morning After (the night before)

A much better day today. The winds have fairly calmed and just a few very light showers, not that many Shetlanders will have noticed, either still drunk, in bed or hangovers set in :) Shame it hadn't been like this for Up Helly Aa but that's just typical :)

After yesterday's busy day at work, today has been fairly quiet and most visitors to the museum came in the afternoon :) Most of Lerwick and Shetland are on a public holiday today but not me :( Oh well, I'll maybe get to Up Helly Aa again at some point in the future :)

A tour around Lerwick the following morning after Up Helly Aa is a very comical sight :) After 12+ hours of people drinking and partying, some start heading home for bed and others stagger through the town still wearing costumes and looking for breakfast. This poor man carrying his boots and clothes may look like he's heading for a taxi but he passed by and think he headed for a near by cafe. And notice the women chatting aren't even paying attention to him, just normal behaviour today :) Wonder what anyone would think if it was their first visit to Shetland today?
