Night Travel

This is the Union Canal by twilight! The small red lights on the right are the cats-eyes which light the tow path, and the bright white light in the distance on the left is that of a rowing boat. The rowers amaze me, they train every night regardless of the cold and the dark. To show their presence to other canal traffic they have a large white light at one end of the boat. Still, it must be quite a task to ensure the boats don't crash into one another!
