LHR T5 security staff need to learn how to smile
I find T5 a bit frustrating. In some ways it is brilliant. It's well laid out, has good shops, a wide range of decent restaurants at reasonable prices for an airport, and staff in both are generally great.
That's where the good news ends...
The worst bit by far is the security area. The staff are miserable, disinterested, and grumpy. The whole process is unnecessarily and painfully slow, and the fast lane is no different from the normal lane.
Not one other airport from the last couple of years of business travel has a security area as bad as T5, but it's the same every week with no indication of improvement on the horizon.
