Lifting

Cranes used to dominate the Greenock skyline. I remember as a child being driven along the main road through Greenock towards Glasgow which, for a couple of miles, bordered what seemed to be a continuous red brick shipyard wall overtopped by huge cranes and the jutting prows of half-built ships. Few remain; just the last handful of working cranes and the skeletons and ghosts of others.
