Ancient Ancestors

Last Friday, when it was too wet and windy to go flying, my prospective passenger David and I spent the time looking at his family tree and then at mine. His research is so far advanced it makes my efforts (nothing done for years) look insignificant. However we did find this photo on the web. I have since downloaded it, then displayed it on the screen and now photographed it to fit in with the spirit of Blip!

When Mrs TPV looked at it she said "That's Grandad" referring to my grandfather who died aged 95 in 1980. She was right and wrong! She was looking at the chap in the middle of the front row, who does look remarkably like my memory of Grandad, but who is in fact his father and thus my great grandfather! Grandad is in fact second from the left in the back row, and pictured here with his parents and his 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

I never knew granddad with anything but white hair and beard. Its quite a shock to see him with dark hair!

Despite this picture being taken at a wedding in 1927, they do look awfully stern! Not like my grandfather at all!
