Stripes

Saw a Grand Designs episode somewhat recently where the designers decided that they would build their ENTIRE house out of concrete. Not really to my taste to be honest. What was slightly cool was they patterned some of the concrete with wood (by making a mould into which planks of wood are added and then concrete poured in). At Birmingham Uni the Bioscience building is pretty grim looking, but the entrance hall is all made out of this strange wood-moulded concrete. They have the same thing going on at B'ham New street station as well (another ugly building).
