Pane Italiano
Or, just a simple everyday loaf of Italian bread. It is made mostly with bread flour, with a bit of semolina. I used my bread machine to mix it and proof it. Halfway through the second rise I stopped the machine and baked it off in the oven in my La Cloche baker. It has a chewy crust with a creamy soft interior. It was wonderful with celery soup.
