Reflections

How cool is this? I'm staying in a hotel room with an upstairs bathroom that has a wonderful antique staircase to reach it. This exquisite mirror is on the dressing table. Outside the bathroom window is a clock tower that may be tomorrow's blip, depending on the morning light.

Fawsley, near Daventry, was a Royal manor in the seventh century. Fawsley Hall, now the hotel, dates back to Tudor times, and is set in grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. To reach the hotel, you have to drive up a track that grazing sheep regard as their private domain. The grass is sweetest at the track edge, apparently.

We're here with Honda, for the new Civic Tourer, and tomorrow's route takes us to Rockingham race circuit. Interesting place to go with an estate car, but then Honda is very proud of its record in the British Touring Car Championship.
