When we understand...

..where prejudice leads, we can stop it in its tracks.

That is the message from this striking artwork that was created for Holocaust Memorial Day (which is today) by Rose Richmond and Hannah Prill from Tarbert Academy in Argyll.

I was on the same Holocaust Educational Trust "Lessons from Auschwitz" visit to Auschwitz as Rose and Hannah last October and they invited me to the school today to add my handprint to all the others as a symbolic stance against prejudice and persecution, the horrific outcome of which we saw last year.

They led an assembly in the school this afternoon on the topic of the Holocaust and this artwork will now be hung prominently in the school as a living example of the "Lessons from Auschwitz" we must all learn and never forget.
