With a small print in mind ...
I'm booked on an introduction to wood engraving weekend with Angela Lewin at the Sculpture Park in a fortnight and I've been trying to do some preparation. I've just learnt that we'll be given a block of wood that will only be 10 x 7.5 cm, which is pretty tiny! It's a long time since I booked the course and somewhere in my head I've muddled the terminology, so I was thinking in terms of woodcut and not wood engraving! (Woodcuts are usually done on larger pieces of wood.) So I've had a few ideas, each too complicated. I thought I might try this bamboo in a pot, which I've drawn and then reduced in size on the computer - but it still looks too complex.
Maybe I should opt for the shadows :)
