Nature trail

Today, we got up to a slightly more overcast and fresh morning. Still, it was dry so B and I headed out for a stroll around the lake.

We were treated to various sights, such as two Grebes getting to know each other a little better, a nest of swan eggs, complete with doting parent and a cute gecko, who was most obliging.

Most of all, I was able to breathe, to relax, to just be and that was wonderful.

I felt very privileged to be able to share in these animals' lives just for that short while.

Then the midgies started to swarm in alarming numbers and after inhaling a good few, we decided to head back to the bach.

Just as we put the last things in the car to drive home, the heavens opened and the rain started doing its thing.

A wonderfully relaxing weekend.
