Bearing Change

I noticed a grinding noised when I was towing the boat down to the ramp the other day so I decided to use the public holiday today to give the trailer a bearing birthday. Good thing I did too. One of the inner hub bearings race was cracked through and the bearing was only staying together by grease power. I wouldn't have gotten far on any kind of drive.

So I removed bearings on both sides, cleaned it all up, packed grease into the new ones and reassembled the whole lot. The bearing kit on the left was in good nik but I replaced it anyway and will keep the old ones as an emergency set.

All in all it was a very dirty, smelly job but quite rewarding when the wheel was bolted back on and spun freely.
