homework by the fire

like most boys (and men), our son loves a good fire. the recent polar vortex has provided a great excuse for us to build more fires in our fireplace. i don't know why but recently, our son's been asking if he can put (insert whatever) into the fire. like ... "dad, can i put a lego into the fire?" (No!) "Why not?" (because burning plastic smells!) "Dad, can i put this flower pot into the fire?" (No!) "Why not?" ... you get the idea. after running out of "proper" things to put into the fire, he finally settled down to do his homework. naturally, it was in front of the fire. i took a shot of him because i thought it would make a nice pic :)
