Programme

An atmosphere of relaxed anticipation, seconds before the lights dim and the concertmaster tunes the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra prior to taking her seat. Tickets for this concert were found in my stocking and we have been looking forward to the evening ever since. Today was a busy Saturday of errands, so the break was doubly welcome.

The main theatre of the St. John's Arts and Culture Centre is a beautiful venue with a unique ceiling (in my experience). It consists of simple down lights which effectively mask the HVAC and lighting systems suspended above the audience without impeding their operation.
