Grim

Spent the afternoon at the Museum of Flight, in East Lothian. It's a really interesting museum, with a great mix of civilian and military aircraft. This time, due to Matthew's school project on WWII, we concentrated on the military aircraft. This is a detail from one of the planes. I assume it shows the number of bombing raids completed.

Whenever I got to any kind of military museum I'm torn between admiration for the bravery of those involved and the sadness at the death and destruction. Sincerely glad that I've never had to go to war.
