Calculations
Working on a portrait shot and adjusting skin tone. I found a very interesting tutorial on doing that in Lightroom which involves doing a little bit of simple maths with the values in the colour channels, so I thought I'd give it a go.
You, basically, do (Red – Green) / 2 to get your adjustment value.
Then for your adjusted red value you … oh FFS. Just look at the original
It does become a little more complicated when you're just aiming to affect the skin in the image and leave the rest of the colour in the photo untouched. Then you have to bring in to Photoshop and mask out the areas…which then really shows up a massive difference in tones that needs further work.
So…if you're happy to simply make the adjustment in Lightroom to the whole image, then it's great. But I can't see why you would want to do that in all honesty.
There you go!! That's a proper 'journal' entry!! ;)
