Life and death of a plastic bag

cool

The life of a plastic bag is pretty mundane - it gets filled with shopping and then is either thrown away, or if it's really lucky, it might get re-used or recycled into another plastic bag.
Sadly most of the time it ends up in landfill, or even worse, in the sea.
In workshops for the homeless community, young people not in education, training or employment, and members of the general public, discarded plastic bags were used to create 'stained glass panels'.
Each participant made a panel to their own design, influenced by background music selected especially for the workshop.
The installation is in the tower of St Luke's 'bombed out church', bringing light, colour, life and imagination to an already amazing space.
