It was Burns night, so had to feature, as Robert Burns put it, " Great Chieftain o' the puddin race".
Does not look particularly attractive does it? This Scots dish consists of a mixture of the minced heart, lungs, and liver of a sheep or calf mixed with suet, onions, oatmeal, and seasonings and boiled in the stomach of the slaughtered animal.
Fancy it? Actually was reasonably palatable - drenched in Scotch as a gravy!!

The Burns dinner was a successful charity fund raiser for the Nottingham-based
Ear Foundation which (as a world-leader) has pioneered and specialises in the provision of cochlear implants for the deaf - and so a very worthy and deserving cause.
