The Young and The Old
I had a great time in Stratford yesterday. Went for coffee with Ann and Emma in the morning, then straight off to the RSC to meet the Edinburgh blipping crew, Siobhan , Roz , Duncan, Cheryl and the birthday boy David , fifty years young on Tuesday. Unfortunately Lesley and Eric had to fly back early to see her mother.
I started the tour at the theatre where we had a look around then visited a photographic exhibition they were holding of numerous stars taken backstage. Very good. It was then a cuppa at Ann Hathways Tearoom where due to inclement weather we had to retreat straight to The Garrick. Everybody else had the same idea so it was off to The Windmill, which was also full. As we were leaving to find a pub with seating we were caught in the worst storm of the winter. Rain, wind, hailstones the size of golf balls (cliché) so back to The Windmill to dry out, externally anyway.
The rest of the afternoon was then spent in drinking establishments, and a game of chess, and finished up at Thespians for an excellent curry and a birthday cake for David.
All in all, a good day!
