Panda

I did stained glass for many years. The National Zoo in D.C. would have an annual 'Zoofari', a major fundraiser for them with each year revolving around a particular animal. For several years I made a piece for their silent auction. This was one of the earlier pieces that I did. The winner of the first year, returned it the next year to be auctioned again to raise more funds, that winner did the same the following year. That year was not a good year for the fundraising and bids were slow so we bid on it that year and brought him home to stay.
The dark mountains on one side were to represent the loss of habitat for the dwindling panda population.
