day 26 | a new year a new challenge for maddy

today maddy tried out archery for the first time, as we rocked up to the park where the archery is based maddy got a bit of a shock, unlike other sports that she has participated in there were no children present most were adults a few teenagers but no children of her age (10)…immediately her guards went up and felt extremely out of place.

after a bit of urging we got her matched with a bow that she was strong enough to use then she went through a fifteen minute talk to get her up to speed on how everything worked…then was sent over to the beginners area where she got to try her hand at shooting but after her first round of six she was upsettingly put off as none of her arrows had hit the board let alone the coloured rings…little does she know that it will take here quite a while before she will be able to get a handle on archery…as she is not a very strong girl she will need to build up her strength before she will be able to focus on the aiming part…anyway after an hour of practice she is ready to tackle the next step…a three lesson beginners course starting next Sunday.
