The Source of the Hawea River

This is the second photo of my 'one river'' series. It's not very scenic I know, but is the beginning of my river journey. My choice of river in this area is - 'The Hawea River' which commences at Lake Hawea, with water cascading down the slipway and gushing out on it's journey to the sea. The noise and power of the water was quite deafening! In the 20 years that I have lived here, this is the first time I have been brave enough to walk down the hill and see and photograph this scene.

The river is only 14 k's long, but has many interesting highlights that I will share with you on my journey downstream.
